Every year in Joinville, the County Council invites you to (re) discover a magical and emblematic site of the sixteenth century. The Château du Grand Jardin, commissioned by Claude de Lorraine - 1st Duc de Guise - remains today a rare and exceptional site: it is one of the three Renaissance gardens in France.
Dedicated to festivals and culture, it translates balance and harmony of ancient and contemporary arts until you revive today the customs and customs of time. Thanks to the "augmented reality", equipped with your phones and digital tablets, surprise François Ier and Claude de Lorraine chatting in the gardens or Antoinette de Bourbon while reading, in the freshness of an arbor of boxwood. Beyond the carved facades of the castle, let yourself be guided in the balls, feasts and songs of the hall of honor.
And to stay true to the spirit and magic of the place, discover this summer a rich and varied programming. From end-June to the end of August, every Sunday at 17h, a formula combining guided tours and live shows will be offered in the gardens. Music, song, dance, humor, poetry and acrobatic performances ... whatever the age, everyone will find his happiness.
Not to mention the "Rendez-vous au Jardin" on the 5, 6 and 7 of June, which will be animated by several puppet shows and potting workshops, and the "European Heritage Days" in September, with an artist residency to celebrate backdrop.
With the seasons, escape to your home for unforgettable cultural parentheses.
